Self-described "construction tech chap" with 20+ years in the industry. Matt previously founded APE Mobile — a paperless construction app that he grew from scratch and sold in 2020. Before that, a decade at Siemens across the UK and Switzerland.

Loves coffee, working with funky people, and if you ask nicely he might show you his Tina Turner dance. Handles all things product, customer, and strategy.

David Ewen

Co-Founder & CTO

The architect behind every line of Nyfty. David is a senior software architect with deep expertise in AI-driven workflows and system integration. He previously built the core platform at APE Mobile alongside Matt, and has published technical articles with over a million reads.

Quietly brilliant with a knack for making complex things look simple. David designs and builds all of Nyfty's AI agents, integrations, and infrastructure.

Matt and David first worked together at APE Mobile, a construction tech company Matt founded in 2012. After selling that business in 2020, they turned their attention to a problem they'd seen on every job site: safety plans that nobody actually follows.

The answer wasn't another app. Foremen already have too many of those. The answer was meeting workers where they already are — their text messages. That insight became Nyfty.

Since 2018, Nyfty has grown into a suite of AI agents that handle Pre-Task Plans, Toolbox Talks, Orientations, Permits, and more — all over SMS, all synced back to Procore or Autodesk. No app download. No login. No training.
